Halverstown v. Ballaghadereen

Wallace Cup, Sunday 20th May
Ballaghadereen won by 70 runs.

BALLAGHADEREEN 165 all out (39 overs)
M. Monteiro 3-12
D. Singh 2-20
J. Threadgold 2-30

HALVERSTOWN 95 all out (33 overs)
M. Neville 35

A resounding defeat. Halverstown won the toss and asked Ballaghadereen to bat first on a soft (grass!) wicket. At 42-3 off 17 overs it was slow going but an acceleration in the scoring rate without the bat ever really getting on top helped the opposition to 165 all out.

4 an over to win seemed possible but the Ballaghadereen bowling was very good and every bowler bowled well and got something from the wicket. Mick Neville batted steadily for 35 but no one else was able to get going and the game finished early with the innings petering out to a very unexciting 95 all out.

There's always Dundrum next. Bouncebackability needed!
